It’s been a while since I’ve updated. I’m trying to get out if that habit and in one of writing at least 2 or 3 times a week like I used to. My main reason that I haven’t yet is work, of course. Usually, once I get home, I don’t feel like doing much of anything at all. This is a very busy time for my line of work, though, so once things settle down after the holidays, I think I’ll feel like doing more.
Not too much has happened since my last update, but one very big event for me was going to see John Taylor (Duran Duran) at his talk and signing event in Chicago on October 30th. The trip there was a bit exhausting as most car trips are. Chicago is 5 hours away from where I am, so it’s not really a short ride. The event itself was at the City Winery, which is a very nice place! I would love to go there again when I have a bit more time. It was nice inside and one thing I really liked were the wine bottle shaped lights.

Later on, when waiting in line for the signing, we got to see them close up.

My friend and I shared a plate of cheeses, which were delicious. I’m not big on blue cheese, but it tasted rather good with honey.

The talk and reading session with John was very good and amusing. Musically speaking, John has always been someone I look up to, so getting to listen to him talk about and read from his book and meet him was a dream come true for me, even if the meeting was a bit rushed due to time and how many were there. I enjoyed it!

I also had a book autographed for a friend in Japan. It’s a surprise present, so I hope she’ll like it. She’s a fan too, of course. John had some fun with her name though, haha. She goes by Chicako, so since we were in Chicago he was amused and wrote hers “To Chicako, From Chicago”.

I think she’ll like it!
Anyway, the book is good, so go buy it!

Ending here for now, but I have more to post later today.

An Update!
I realized its been a while since my last entry, so I’m going to change that!
I haven’t had too much to blog about lately and I’ve been busy making things for my Etsy shop, so that’s taking a lot of my time that isn’t work. Currently, there are only two items listed in the shop, but I plan to add more items over the weekend.
The shop is here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Phantomini
The shop is named after the furry babies living with us, haha. I liked how nicely Phantom and Omi’s names matched up and since I couldn’t think of another name for the shop, PhantOmi it was!
Right now, the items I have in the shop are Adipose earrings (those cute blobs of fat from a Doctor Who episode) and little pumpkin charms with black kittens. The Adipose are selling the most, so those are something that I think that I’ll always keep in stock, while the pumpkin-kittens are seasonal. On my upcoming days off work, I plan to start working on Christmas related items and custom requests for other Doctor Who related earrings.
To end this, here are the earrings and charms:

iPhone 5

Got up at 4am to get ready to go stand in line outside of our Apple store. Luckily, our Apple store is in the mall, so my roommate and I don’t have to be out in the morning chill. We’re not too much further behind than when I got my iPhone 4, and the mall line isn’t uber packed right now, so hopefully it won’t take too long!
Obviously, I took the day off today, so I have a nice three day weekend to play with the shiny new phone. I’m still deciding between black and white, but I usually end up getting black.
Expect photos today! I’m anxious to try out the cameras, especially the front one since it has been upgraded.
Fall mood
I know it’s not fall yet, but I’ve been more than ready for it, so once we hit September, I pulled out the decorations, mainly just the pumpkins and seasonal candles. While the cats are technically Halloween oriented, those are actually the salt and pepper shakers we use year round. I’m saving the rest of my Halloween decor for October.
So the apartment is very pumpkin-y, which makes me a happy kitten. And to keep with the early fall-like activities, I had my first Pumpkin Spice Frappucinno from Starbucks yesterday! As I thought, it’s delicious with the chips.

Room progress
I still have some more putting away and tidying up to do, but here’s part of my room.

The area I spend a good deal of my night before bed at, my desk. I’m still deciding on how to arrange everything I want to keep on it, though.
And the other area I spend the rest of my night and early morning, the bed. …Well, the rack above the bed since the bed wasn’t made.

And yes, I have more plushies than I know what to do with. That’s a small portion of them, haha.
Once I’m done getting situated, I’ll take proper pictures of the room and the rest of the apartment.
Sleep for now! Goodnight!
Internet!
We finally got our cable/Internet moved to the new place today! We had wanted it sooner, but since we had to reschedule due to our original moving date getting pushed back, we had to go with what date was available. We were without it for about a week (short hotel stay in Memphis doesn’t count) and, to us internet addicts, that seemed like the longest week ever, haha.
Anyway, it’s all set up, so this place feels pretty complete now. We also bought a microwave, so we’re set!
Tomorrow, I’m going to buy some things for my room so I can finally get it all in order. Pictures to come after it’s finished!
I can’t leave this entry picture-less, so here’s a Phantom doing cute Phantom-y stuff.

New room
This was my room before unloading all of my junk:

And this is most of the stuff (some still in the front room or pushed in the closet) I need to sort through and situate:

I wish I could snap my fingers and make it arrange itself, haha.
On the kitty note, Phantom is adjusting just fine, rolling all over the floor and beds. Omi, on the other hand, is being his usual unsure and hiding self. I think he’ll be fine in a few days, though.
Anyway, moving is about 95% done and we’re calling it a night.
Packing status
I’m pretty much done packing for the move tomorrow. Only things left are furniture and small things on my desk. Tomorrow is going to be a lot of work, but I’m looking forward to finally moving. I can’t wait to decorate!
Downside of all the packing and moving is that the kitties are all nervous and clingy. Phantom and Omi have both been wandering around meowing, and right now I have a very clingy Phantom on my lap.

I think I’ve gotten him calmed down a bit now. I’m hoping it won’t take them too long to adjust to the new place. It took them a few days to adjust the first time we moved, so I’m expecting them to be a little spazzy for a bit after this move. I think they’ll enjoy the new place a lot better than this current apartment.
Now that Phantom is calmed down, he’s lulling me to sleep, so good night!
Art
Since Friday, I’ve been trying to get some of my art projects that I have lined up done. I only managed to finish two, though, since Saturday night turned into drunken Mariokart time, haha. Set me back a little from my goal, but it was fun. Anyway, my goal to finish at least three more is by the end of this week.
