Phantom Phriday Vol. 21

Good evening everyone! Since Lisa had gallbladder surgery this week, I’ll be your guest blogger for this week, Katie!

We apologize for the long space without a post. Things have been hectic since returning from Japan! But fear not, we’re back to give you your weekly dose of cute kitties!

Speaking of which, this week we also have guest cats – red light kitties from Kabuki-cho!

I had the pleasure of meeting four lovely furry friends at Cats in the Box, a cat bar in Shinjuku’s Kabuki-cho!

“Well, are you going to give me treats or not, lady?”

“That’s more lik… hey! I can’t get to it! Move it!”

img_4418

“Oh well, I’ll go for cuddles instead…”

“Leave me alone, can’t you see we’re sleeping here?”

“Don’t mind them, I’ll play!”

“I’ll get that thing!”

If you ever find yourself in Tokyo, be sure to stop by for a drink and some furry friends!

Until next time!

The Beach

IMG_9122

Last week, Katie and I flew down to Tampa to visit my family for a few days. Florida was hot and miserable as usual, but we did get to go out to St. Pete beach at sunset, so that made up for it all. My cousin was with us too, so that made the time even more enjoyable!

The sunset over the water was really gorgeous! Katie and I had our nicer cameras with us, so we took a lot of pictures while we were there. I’ve yet to have time to get mine off my camera, but I plan to this weekend.

Yes, that is a Luffy hat.

Being there reminded me of my childhood as we used to go to the beach quite a bit. If there’s any one thing that I miss in Florida that we don’t have here in Missouri, it’s the beach (St Pete, to be exact). Other than that, Florida is pretty dull and way too hot for me, haha.

While seeing my family and being at the beach was nice, I missed my little cuddle buddies and couldn’t wait to get back home to them.

Florida & Updates

Epcot, 2014

I’m a little late writing about my visit to Florida, but better late than never. Florida was Florida. I’m never all that thrilled to go there, but seeing my family and my friend was nice. Epcot was fun and made better by the fact that we were there during their flower celebration, so there were a lot of cute topiary in the shapes of characters, which you can see in my photography section. Yes! I managed to put them up in a timely manner and not a year after I took them! Hah! I also added last year’s trip photos. I’ll work on getting the photos a bit more organized at some point when I have more time.

Site-wise, I also added a sales section for band goods that need to find new homes so that they’re not just collecting dust on my shelf. I had had them on my tumblr, but tumblr is kind of hard to keep nicely organized. This way, I can keep up with sales much better and not have to go back and repost things.

I also added a few more sections, but they’re still being worked on, so nothing is really there at the moment. Of course, I’ll update when there is though.

Off to bed with me! Good Night!

Enter March

"I'm watching you, Minion. Now, get up and feed me."

“I’m watching you, Minion. Now, get up and feed me.”

March felt like it snuck up on me, much like my cat in the morning, only it was nice enough not to pounce on me with 14 lbs. of weight. However, it brought a load of snow with it, so I’m not very happy with it yet. Once it brings me Spring all will be forgiven.

Even if it’s still cold here in Missouri, I’ll have a break from it next week. My roommate and I will be heading down to Florida to visit my family and a friend, so I’m hoping the weather will be nice while Katie and I are there. I know it’ll be a lot warmer, but Florida tends to be a little too rainy when I visit. Instead of Disney World, since we went there last year (twice even, but two different countries), we’ll be going to Epcot, so I’m looking forward to that! I haven’t been there in over 10 years if I remember right. I’ll be sure to take and post my trip photos! Maybe even in a timely manner.

Disney Birds

Another one of my photos from my visit to Disney last April. This one is one of my favourites from that trip. Why? Just look at that bird! haha

o0750100012602633726

Again, as I mentioned in previous entries, there were very many birds around Disney that day that didn’t seem to mind people being close to them, which made for good photo opportunities. This one was a pretty big one too, though not the biggest we saw that day. No, that title goes to this one –

I didn’t catch it when it had it’s wings out like I wanted, but this one came out good enough. Such a pretty bird! This one was out to get everyone’s churros, somewhat aggressively so. I kept a good distance from it because of that, haha.

More to come later!

Travel Plans

Image

It’s slow season at work, so I took Friday off and had a nice three day weekend, the first one in a long time. No OT for a while, so that means I have more time to study for my testing and have some much needed me time. As much as I like OT pay, it’s nice to be able to relax a little more.

On the subject of my title, Katie and I have decided to go down to Florida on her Spring break, mainly to see my mother and our friend. I’m not fond of Florida at all, but that’s where most of my family is, so I’m doing my daughterly/grandaughterly duty. It’s close to my mother’s birthday too, so she wants to take us and our friend up to Disney like she did last year.

The above picture is actually from last year, but I haven’t gotten around to posting all of those pictures yet (soon! I promise!). As I mentioned in a previous entry, there were a lot of photogenic birds that day! This one was another one of them. He was perched on Mickey’s nose, just watching everyone watching and taking pictures of him. I took three pictures of him before I went on my way to Tomorrowland. I would have tried to take more, but Disney is a busy place in the middle of the day, so I didn’t want to be in the way. I’ll post the other two shots of him later.

I’m off to bed now, so good night!

Osaka – 13.11.02

Backtracking to the trip again. This time Osaka! Sadly, I didn’t take many pictures, but I at least made sure to take one of the giant Glico man because everyone takes a photo of that. It’s just something that you do.

2013-11-02 18.27.11

We only got to spend a day there (a late afternoon to the next morning, so not really a full day), but we still had a lot of fun walking around. Katie had been there once before, but this was my first time visiting. Since we didn’t have very much time to spend there, we chose a nice capsule hotel that was very close (about 5-10 minute walks) to everywhere we wanted to go to. The first place we went to was Pure Sound and ended up getting a lot of older CDs that we’d been wanting and a few band goods. Next, we went to McDonalds for dinner and to chill for a bit since we were still sort of tired from traveling from Sendai to Osaka. After that, we went in search of a Baskin Robbins. Before our trip, I’d made it a little mission of mine to have one of the cute Halloween treats they’d had to offer, but Sendai and Tokyo were out of the makings for the one I wanted. However, Osaka still had it, so I was happy!

2013-11-02 17.42.03

It’s pumpkin cake with a scoop of pumpkin pudding and devil’s food ice cream, topped with two very cute white chocolate ghosts and a purple ghost cookie. It was delicious and worth my searching! With it came a set of pink and purple gel pens, a sheet of stickers and a set of stickers to use on the LINE app.

After we were done there, we had some time to kill before a bar that we wanted to go to opened, so we went to ZEAL LINK and looked around a few other places while we waited. Finally, it was time for Visual Bar Seven to open, so we made our way there. It’s a small and nice bar owned by two bandmen that we were familiar with and it’s a neat place for those who like visual kei to go to. They play band videos all night and the thing I liked most about it is no one trying to make me do karaoke! HAH! (I cannot and will not sing in front of people. I did it once and that was it.) We stayed there for about 2 hours drinking and chatting with the owners and then went back to the hotel to get some sleep because we had to leave at 6am to make it back to Sendai for an event we were going to attend.

Next time, I definitely want to stay longer (and take more pictures!), but I enjoyed my short time there.

Tokyo Disney

Flashbacking to my trip for this post.

2013-10-28 18.18.46

All the times that we’d visited Japan before, we never made it to Tokyo Disney, so we decided that we needed to go to there at least once and what better time than Halloween! Also, it’s Tokyo Disney’s 30th anniversary, so there were double the decorations. We ended up going with a friend of ours and her friend and, since we went in the evening, it was half off the ticket price! I don’t think Disney World and Disneyland have that sort of price special, but it would be awesome if they did seeing as the full price tickets are so expensive anymore. Anyway, as far as rides go, we only rode Space Mountain. I think it took us nearly two hours to actually ride it because the line was so long, but we had fun.

After Space Mountain, we went around the shops and the character houses. This cuteness was outside of Minnie’s house.

2013-10-28 20.16.37

I loved it! I loved the expressions on the cat’s faces too! I wish I had been able to get a photo at a better angle, but this one was good enough.

2013-10-28 20.16.45

After we were done with the shops, it was fireworks time! I took a lot of pictures during it that I’ll post later. Some of them came out a bit blurry, so I’ll pick out the best ones to post.

And that’s my short Tokyo Disney experience. Next time, I want to go during the day and spend more time there.

Niigata

20131218-154758.jpg

Sharing one of the pictures I took while in Niigata. My friend and I visited a friend there during our stay in Japan. We only got to spend a few hours there this time, but next trip we’d both like to stay a day or two and have a bit more time to look around. It was a bit overcast that day, but the sea and the sunset were still gorgeous.

Another place we’d both like to spend a little more time in is Osaka. We spent a night there, but due to our schedule, we had to leave really early to catch the shinkansen back to Tokyo. It was a nice stay though! We stayed in a capsule hotel, which was an interesting experience, but we both agreed that it wasn’t really our thing, haha. We prefer the quiet and privacy of hotels. However, if you just need somewhere to sleep, I’d recommend it! The staff was extremely nice and I’ve forgotten the name of the place, but I’ll look it up when I finally write out my long trip post.

Phantom has declared it bedtime by settling himself on my stomach, so off to bed I go!

Luggage

20130403-112536.jpg

Backdating a little, but my new luggage arrived! I’m quite happy with the set and can’t wait to use it. I’ve had the same luggage for about 15 years now, so I deemed it time for a new set.

Also, spinner-wheel luggage will come in quite handy in Japan. Normal wheels tend to be difficult for me there.

Anyway, I’ll get to test at least one or two of them when I visit Florida later this month. I’ll be going there for my Nana’s 80th birthday☆
