Paw Prints in the Snow

Snowing again today and I’m stuck here in a cubicle when I’d rather be home snuggling with the cats. At least I have that to look forward to after work.

Rio had her first little trek in the snow last week. More like a few steps, as she was on our deck, but I’m not sure she liked it very much. She left these cute little paw prints for me though.

I think she’s more of a watching the snow fall kind of kitty rather than a prance around in the snow type.

Also, signal boosting this for a friend of mine. Her kitties experienced a strange, unknown-as-of-yet illness, which resulted in a very large vet bill. Both kitties seem to be doing fine now. If you can either contribute to help them out or just spread the link, they’ll appreciate it!

Sunset & Stargazing

Saturday evening, we went to the home of a co-worker of Katie’s dad for a bonfire and stargazing party. We arrived there in time to see the pretty sunset, so I took a few pictures, the above panorama being the best of them.

The stargazing portion of the night didn’t go as planned since it was really cloudy until around 9pm, but we did get to see some clear sky before we left. It was nice to look up and see a lot of stars! We live in the suburb, so there’s too much light pollution from businesses and street lights nearby. We do see more than if we lived in the city though.

Katie also took a lot of pictures there, even some of the stars. Once she uploads those, I’ll link them!

Phantom the Nurse

I stayed home from work yesterday because I wasn’t feeling well and, of course, I had my cat-nurse on me all day. He’s not good at bringing me food or water, but he is really good at keeping me asleep.

When I wasn’t sleeping, I tried catching up on One Piece since Crunchyroll seemed to be working a little better than it has been. I managed to make it through 20 episodes..only 482 left to catch up! (orz)

2015 – Start

Happy new year!

Of course the first picture of the new year is going to be a feline.

My New Year’s Eve was uneventful, but relaxing. New Year’s Day was about the same, but I did manage to finish a a clay project that I’ve been wanting to get done.

These were meant to be Christmas presents for ALvino, but work and my Etsy shop had me pretty busy during the holiday season, so I never got a chance to start on them. I still need to sand and glaze them before I ship them off. I hope they like them!

Countdown

Rio

I can’t believe that it’s already August! This year really feels like it’s going by fast. We move a week from Wednesday, so now starts the serious packing. I’m really looking forward to moving to the new place, but not looking forward to the actual moving part, haha. This move should be easier than the last move, though, since the new place is just up the street from our current place. The most difficult thing will be having to move up and down three flights of stairs again, especially furniture because the stairs are so narrow. I’m glad the new place only has one!

Yesterday, we went to see Guardians of the Galaxy. It was okay, just not my kind of movie. It was amusing, so that kind of made it a little more enjoyable for me. I think anyone who likes those sort of movies will like it though.

It’s been a while since I’ve written a proper post, but I’ve been really busy with personal things, work, and looking for a new apartment. My roommate and I found a new place, so now we’re in the process of packing and getting ready to move in August. After everything settles down, I’ll start posting more. I have a lot that I’ve wanted to talk about, but I’ll save it for later. Until then, meet the new kitty, Rio!

She’s a bouncing ball of energy! My roommate adopted her from a rescue group last month and it only took her about a day to claim the house and everyone in it as hers. Phantom was very quick to warm up to her and since then he’s treated her like his child. She’s the first cat he’s really gotten along with.

Omi, however, took a bit longer to accept her, but now he’s fine with her. He’s 12 years old this year, so we knew it’d probably take him longer. He’s not fond of change, so he’s going to really dislike us when the time comes for us to relocate him to the new place.

Florida & Updates

Epcot, 2014

I’m a little late writing about my visit to Florida, but better late than never. Florida was Florida. I’m never all that thrilled to go there, but seeing my family and my friend was nice. Epcot was fun and made better by the fact that we were there during their flower celebration, so there were a lot of cute topiary in the shapes of characters, which you can see in my photography section. Yes! I managed to put them up in a timely manner and not a year after I took them! Hah! I also added last year’s trip photos. I’ll work on getting the photos a bit more organized at some point when I have more time.

Site-wise, I also added a sales section for band goods that need to find new homes so that they’re not just collecting dust on my shelf. I had had them on my tumblr, but tumblr is kind of hard to keep nicely organized. This way, I can keep up with sales much better and not have to go back and repost things.

I also added a few more sections, but they’re still being worked on, so nothing is really there at the moment. Of course, I’ll update when there is though.

March felt like it snuck up on me, much like my cat in the morning, only it was nice enough not to pounce on me with 14 lbs. of weight. However, it brought a load of snow with it, so I’m not very happy with it yet. Once it brings me Spring all will be forgiven.

Even if it’s still cold here in Missouri, I’ll have a break from it next week. My roommate and I will be heading down to Florida to visit my family and a friend, so I’m hoping the weather will be nice while Katie and I are there. I know it’ll be a lot warmer, but Florida tends to be a little too rainy when I visit. Instead of Disney World, since we went there last year (twice even, but two different countries), we’ll be going to Epcot, so I’m looking forward to that! I haven’t been there in over 10 years if I remember right. I’ll be sure to take and post my trip photos! Maybe even in a timely manner.

Warmth?

It seems like we finally have a break from the cold weather! It felt nice yesterday and, even though it’s raining today, it’s still warm, so I’m not complaining. However, it wont last because another cold front is coming through, so it’s going to get cold and snowy again. Spring needs to get here faster.

I give those around me permission to smack me if I ever start complaining about the heat when we get into Summer.
