Luggage

Backdating a little, but my new luggage arrived! I’m quite happy with the set and can’t wait to use it. I’ve had the same luggage for about 15 years now, so I deemed it time for a new set.

Also, spinner-wheel luggage will come in quite handy in Japan. Normal wheels tend to be difficult for me there.

Anyway, I’ll get to test at least one or two of them when I visit Florida later this month. I’ll be going there for my Nana’s 80th birthday☆

Hello April

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I’ll go back to attempting daily posts starting now.

Since I last wrote, in January, my company was bought by a better company, so we’re still easing into the mindset of belonging to a new company and getting used to the way that they do things.

February was uneventful for the most part..except that my roommate and I were able to purchase our tickets to Japan~! We’re both really excited to go back and see our friends as well as go to more parts of Japan that we haven’t been to. We’ll be there mid-October to November.

March was also uneventful and snowy. I’m tired of snow and I think it’s done for the time being, but I was able to get a picture that I was especially proud of—

I’m really happy I managed to capture that cute fluffy thing, haha.

All for now. I’ll update again later!

Late night shopping

20130104-230054.jpg

Late night shopping for funeral appropriate clothes since I found that I didn’t really have anything to wear. Most of my dressier clothes are more for parties or concerts.

So, since I needed a boost to stay up, that called for a white chocolate mocha. It didn’t take me long to find an outfit, though, so now I can go home and crash for the night.

Mochi

I’ve discovered that my cat really loves mochi (no surprise, really). I never give him very much, but only a tiny bit for a treat now and then. But more than mochi, he really really loves red bean paste, haha. I usually have to fight the little guy off of me when I’m eating it.

And, nothing to do with the above, I’m glad it’s finally Friday tomorrow. In going to spend the weekend resting and making more items for my shop, so if you’re keeping up with my shop look forward to new items soon!

I finally received my birthday present (though, technically I haven’t been reimbursed for it, so at the moment, it’s my present to myself, haha). Kiryu’s Shuka ensen tour DVD and document, the FC boxset version.

I’m glad it’s finally in my hands, though I’m not happy with how the postal service ruined it.

The box was smashed in on one side and that caused the box surrounding the DVDs to crack, also causing the 5th DVDs case to snap nearly in two.

However, the DVDs are fine and while I could file a claim with the postal service, there’s just too much hassle involved so I’ll fix it up myself.

More about the actual DVD later after I’ve watched them all!

2013 Wishes

20130101-210001.jpg

I decided to make a wish jar for the new year rather than write out a boring list of resolutions. This way I have a pretty visual and a reminder to strive to make the wishes and goals within the stars come true.

My first day of the year has been a lazy one, but it’s my last day off, so I felt rest was more important.

I hope everyone’s first day was a good one!

2013

Happy New Year!

Looking back, 2012 was a rough year, but it wasn’t completely terrible for me. It was more of a frustrating year than a plain bad one.

Though, it did end on a sad note for my roommate and her family with her grandmother’s passing in the early morning of New Year’s Eve. I’m trying to do what I can to help, but I’m terrible at this sort of thing, even with my own family. The good thing is that she was able to live out one more year and spend every holiday with her family and she passed away surrounded by loved ones. With that, I think she’s able to rest in peace.

I say it every year, but this year I want to make sure to update a lot. I usually get behind because of how busy my job gets and I end up too tired to do much when I come home, but this year I’m not going to let my job wear me out anymore. My focus is going to be on me this year to better myself and keep myself healthy. I don’t want to be this negative, stressed out, and unhealthy person that my job has caused me to become.

That said, here’s to making 2013 better than 2012~!

In The Pleasure Groove

It’s been a while since I’ve updated. I’m trying to get out if that habit and in one of writing at least 2 or 3 times a week like I used to. My main reason that I haven’t yet is work, of course. Usually, once I get home, I don’t feel like doing much of anything at all. This is a very busy time for my line of work, though, so once things settle down after the holidays, I think I’ll feel like doing more.

Not too much has happened since my last update, but one very big event for me was going to see John Taylor (Duran Duran) at his talk and signing event in Chicago on October 30th. The trip there was a bit exhausting as most car trips are. Chicago is 5 hours away from where I am, so it’s not really a short ride. The event itself was at the City Winery, which is a very nice place! I would love to go there again when I have a bit more time. It was nice inside and one thing I really liked were the wine bottle shaped lights.

Later on, when waiting in line for the signing, we got to see them close up.

My friend and I shared a plate of cheeses, which were delicious. I’m not big on blue cheese, but it tasted rather good with honey.

The talk and reading session with John was very good and amusing. Musically speaking, John has always been someone I look up to, so getting to listen to him talk about and read from his book and meet him was a dream come true for me, even if the meeting was a bit rushed due to time and how many were there. I enjoyed it!

I also had a book autographed for a friend in Japan. It’s a surprise present, so I hope she’ll like it. She’s a fan too, of course. John had some fun with her name though, haha. She goes by Chicako, so since we were in Chicago he was amused and wrote hers “To Chicako, From Chicago”.

I think she’ll like it!

Anyway, the book is good, so go buy it!

Ending here for now, but I have more to post later today.
